Hey Family! I loved Christmas. It was best gift to be able to talk to you all. I wish I could have talked for hours and hours. I would have if my mission president allowed me to. It was difficult to hang up the phone. You know the part in the movie Dumb and dumber when Lloyd says he hates goodbyes. Well I feel the same way. It was tough. Sydney sounds so old! I can’t believe she could sing a whole song Thanks so much for all that stuff you got me. It was way too much but I appreciate it. I live with a latin companion so I talk to him in spanish all of the time. He helps me out. He is learning english as well so he talks to me in english and I talk to him in spanish. Its pretty fun. We still worked all of Christmas. We had a service and 11 until 12:30 and then Elder Lee called at 1 oclock and then I called at 2. After I hung up we got our stuff and went out to work. We figured no one would answer their door on Christmas or just not talk to us so we decided to walk. We walked far. We walked all the way to our dinner appointment with a latin family and the missionaries that we live with and then we walked all the way back to be home on time. We talked to a lot of people as we walked. We actually met someone pretty cool and taught her. Her name is Clara. She told us that she was going to come to church but she didn’t show after we called her twice the night before and an hour before church. So Christmas ended up being a good day. It ended up raining as we were walking back to our apartment so that was the bad part.

Well yesterday morning before church, I got a call from one of the assitants and told me that President Baker wanted to meet with me at 7 oclock at the mission home last night. So I went there and he interviewed me and told me he wants me to be the new district leader of the district since Elder Richins is going home on Wednesday. So I am now the new district leader. It is definately not something I aspired to do but I accepted it. I just have a lot of responsibilities now. I get to go on splits with all of the elders in my district, I have a lot of meetings and I have to teach trainings to my district every friday at district meeting. The cool thing is that we get a car now, a red toyota corolla. Elder Lee is stoked about that. He hates riding a bike. He dreads it every day. Honestly having a bike I think is more effective than having a car in a lot of ways because everyone sees you as you ride by and want to know what you do. In a car you are kind of invisible. The good thing is that we don’t have to ride in the rain anymore. Haha. So thats the big news of this week for me. Were you a district leader Dad? Nathan? Oh and we get the USC student ward now as well and we get all of Elder Richin’s work so we are going to have a lot of things to do, similarly to when Elder Mcrae and I combined our work when our visa waiters left

Yesterday Lamarr and Princilla with her two kids came to church again. They are solid. Seriously they are so ready for the gospel. We are both just really excited to be able to teach them. They are still on track for there baptismal date on the 16th of January. We are so excited.

Richard is still being a bucket. He didn’t come to church again so we are going to have to go to his house and show our disappointment. He isn’t progressing much at all anymore. He is losing interest we think. We don’t know why. We are determined to find out tonight our appointment. He has a problem with prophets big time. He thinks it is a corrupt system of doing things kind of like the Pope with the Catholic church. He just isn’t a fan of that stuff. So we really want to show him the Joseph Smith video so he can get a good visual and understand it better but its difficult to find tv time at his house and he isn’t willing to leave his home to go to a members home or something. So we are really praying for him to come around again.

Well other than that family I don’t have much else to say other than I love you and I am so grateful that I got to talk to you on Christmas. Now I can’t wait until Mothers day haha. Thats a long ways away. I can’t believe Alex will already be coming home in May. Thats crazy. Yes mom I have the Ensign. I will read about it tonight. Thats way cool. I can’t wait to read that article. I love you and hope you have a good week!
