Hey family! How was your week? I hope you enjoy the Los Angeles area. Are you in downtown LA? My area borders downtown so it is really close. Thats awesome that your having a show there. It stinks that the booth crashed down. It seems like there has to be a problem sometime during these shows. I really enjoy your letters mom. It definitely is a highlight during the week. Ok so Hillary and Mitchell finally got rid of a pig from their farm. Good Job! Hopefully this new one turns out better than Oscar. How is the hair thing coming along for Hillary? I cannot believe it is going to be February tomorrow. Time sure flies fast. Yay for Aunt Louise! Sounds like there is progression happening with the recovery. That is great. I am still praying for her. I put her on the temple prayer list. I cannot believe Haley is driving. That just shocks my mind. It is unbelievable. When does dad’s car get finished? The transfer ends on February 16th. I most likely won’t be transfered. I have only been here for two so I still have a couple more. Plus they just made me district leader over here. They will probably keep me here for a while.

Ok first off I want to talk about this past weekend before I talk about my investigators. So Elder L. Whitney Clayton came and spoke to basically everybody in the Los Angeles area. He is in the Presidency of the Seventy and is over the western part of the U.S. including Alaska. So he came and spoke to our mission first on Saturday afternoon. The whole mission got to ask him questions for three hours. He answered all of them. It was awesome. That man is a super good guy. Really down to earth and very intelligent and definitely carries the spirit with him as well. Most of the questions had to do with missionary work. Then that night he talked to the college students of Los Angeles and we were allowed to go if we brought an investigator. So we brought Chu of course and it ran very similarly to how he spoke to us. It was a question and answer thing again. Elder Lee and I ran around with the microphones handing them to everyone who wanted to ask questions. It was interesting. Lots of interesting questions. He never got into deep doctrine or anything like that but he had some very powerful answers. Then last night he wanted to speak to all of the recent converts and investigators in the mission. So we were only allowed if we took someone to go with us. So… again we took Chu with us. We also took Damon Ray who is a recent convert of about 3 months. The meeting also was a question and answer meeting but only to the recent converts of the last year. He asked how they found the missionaries, then a bunch of people answered. Then he asked how did you know the church was true, then a bunch of people answered. Then he asked what it felt like to be a mormon now, then a bunch of people answered. Then he asked how were the missionaries. Then like everyone wanted to answer. I am so happy I am a missionary because everyone who is a part of the church loves us. Especially the recent converts. Its amazing and the Spirit was strong in this meeting. Then Elder Clayton spoke about the whole Restoration very simply but powerfully and then closed his meeting. All and all the weekend was awesome. Elder Clayton is definitely called of God. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the next apostle.

So this is who we are teaching. Mostly the same people. We are still of course teaching Chu Chu. She is so excited. There is going to be so many people going to her baptism. She has invited like everybody. She is just really nervous about telling chinese people. Supposively in China if you become Christian then your looked at as very rebelious and many people begin to not like you. So she doesn’t want too many of her chinese friends to know which is sad. Supposively it would be a big disgrace to her family but her parents are allowing her to be baptized so it should be really good.

We are still teaching Tenchi Gao. She came to church again which was great. She is having difficulty making a baptism date. She has read the whole gospel principles book and really enjoys our lessons. She just needs to commit which could be very hard for her as well. Like I said last week, she is more americanized than Chu. She is awesome.

Rosa and Claudia came to church as well. They love church. We took them to the visitors center this past week and they loved and cried through the whole Joseph Smith movie. They are feeding us dinner tomorrow so we are excited. They definitely will be baptized. we are shooting for the end of this next month, maybe at the beginning of march. They are two large latin women twins but definitely have tons of love for the Gospel.

Lamarr came to church alone this past week. He only stayed for sacrament. He looked really tired. He has lot going on right now. He has a bunch of school and his internship. he graduates this weekend from his school. He has this marriage issue on his mind. He just looked really tired. hopefully all will be well with him.

I talked about Damon Ray a little bit earlier. We have really payed attention to him lately. He is a 53 year old black guy that is very talented on the Piano and has an excellent singing voice. We take him to lots of appointments to continue building his knowledge of the church. he works as a piano player for another church so he can’t come to all three hours of church every sunday. He only comes for one hour. So we are working with him to find another job. He is doing good though. He is awesome. I am so glad I know Damon Ray. Elder Lee does a really good voice impression of him. haha

Well family that is all that has happened in the past 5 days. I hope and pray that everything is going good at home. I am sure it is. I love the Gospel. I know that it is true. The mission really has taught me a ton and I am grateful for it. I know the Book of Mormon is true and the Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I am reading the Doctrine and Covenants and it is amazing. I love Joseph Smith. Jesus Christ is our savior. Always look to him in everything you do. He brings peace.
I love you family!

Love
