Hey mom and family. Life here in the mission is going good. I am glad that everything there is going fine. It sounds like that tuna fish sandwich didn’t do so well in your stomach mom. I have subway so much out here. It is cheap and it is good. I think before the mission, I wasn’t the hugest fan but now I am a big fan. They have some good sandwhiches. Well I am sorry to hear that mom. I hope everything is fine now. Dad, gees, your going to die on a bike. When you wreck on a bike, it usually is bad. I hope your hand is doing good. Thats not a good thing for your golf game. I hope that gets better. Good job Haley! It sounds like that you are getting better at tennis. When I get home I am going to play you and we will see if you can beat me….. I am glad that the dog is fitting in with the family. I wish I could see the nieces and nephew. I miss them a lot. Well, it sounds like everthing is going normal over there. I just a got a call from the mission office to meet with president at 3:45. That is a little nerve racking. I guess they might have me training again. I would be fine with that. It makes me nervous. Usually when President wants to meet with us missionaries, that means there is going to be a change. We will see and you will get to find out next week. sorry.

Well this sunday went well. Kevin was confirmed by Christian Tupou the USC football player. It went really well. Kevin told us that on Saturday night that he went to another party where there was beer and smoking going on. He said that before he went that something was telling him not to go. He still made every effort to go and the whole time on the way there, something was telling him not to go. He said the whole time that he was there that something told him not to go. He didn’t do anything bad but the whole time he felt really guilty. So yesterday before his confirmation, he had to step outside for a few moments because something told him in his head multiple times “Don’t ever do that again.” We told him that that was the Spirit the whole time telling him not to do it. It was pretty amazing to see someone having the Spirit telling him something in action. It was a testimony to me on how real the Spirit actually is. Afterwards, he was confirmed and then he left and stood outside again because he felt the Spirit stronger. What the funny thing was that when Elder Lee and I went to look for him after the sacrament was passed and found him outside talking to our baptismal date, Brian Price. Brian was comforting him and letting him know that the Spirit was telling him not to do it again. We were amazed. Brian Price was giving him religious advice. So, Kevin is now a member which is awesome and we are taking him to a lesson tonight with Brian Price so it should be a good one.

Now, for Brian Price. He is doing excellent. He is meeting with us a couple times a week and is progressing really well. I am so proud to be teaching him. He catches on to everything so well. He basically knew the Plan of Salvation before we taught him. We plan on teaching him and his fiance about baptism more in depth and about the Law of Chastity to make sure that they are doing everything that they are supposed to do and not do. Candace is an active member but she lacks a little in the the knowledge of the Gospel. So she tells us that she is learning just as much as Brian is. So, it has been quite the experience with them. My testimony has strengthened to see the Spirit touch a heart like Brians. I never thought I would be teaching an NFL football player about the Gospel but hey, the Gospel is for everyone. No matter your circumstances, no matter where you are from, no matter how you grew up, the Gospel will bless and enhance your life for the better.

Rosa and Claudia are still doing amazing. They are doing everything they can to be baptized. Claudia, we think is looking for another place to live, and Rosa has hired legal help to help her with her divorce papers. They are amazing people. They have such strong testimonies of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Elder Lee and I are enlightened by what they share with us. They really do fit in with the ward too. Everyone loves them at church because they comment in class and participate and are just really happy people. It has been a pleasure teaching them as well.

Have you read this months Ensign? I really really liked it. There is a talk in there that talks about Prayer a lot. I think a member of the Seventy wrote it and his last name is Nielson. For some reason that talk just stood out to me above the rest. It just talks about how we need the Savior constantly in our lives and how strong meaningful prayer can influence us and help us recieve revelation so well. Anyways, I thought I would mention that. I also liked March’s Ensign. There is a huge article on missionaries and how parents can support their child who is on a mission. You guys are doing great at supporting me. I feel blessed to have parents like you mom and dad. I am indeed grateful for your influence in my life. You have helped me out so much. I still can’t believe I am here in the mission sometimes but it is a huge blessing to be out here and I know I was blessed to be born in a home with righteous parents. Thanks so much……. I am so pumped for Conference!!! Conference is like Christmas for missionaries. We all love it and can’t wait for it to come. I am pumped to see what our Prophets and Apostles have to say for us. Why didn’t I watch all sessions of conference before my mission?

Well family I am doing well and I hope all of you are doing well. Thankyou Shreeve family for the package. I don’t know why I remember this but Emily Price’s birthday is on the 31st of this month. Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday to everyone else who has a birthday this week as well. I am still praying for Marty Schreiber and Aunt Louise. I will let you know what happens next week how my interview with President goes. I love you all and I will pray for your hand dad.

Love,
Elder Kevin Jones
