Hellllloooooooo family!!! Like usual how are things going this week? It sounds like it will be a pretty fun week at creative escape! I still feel left out that I don’t get to help out with it this year. I think it is cool that dad gets to show off his t-bird at the show. I think that will be the winning ticket. Is this going to be the last year for creative escape? Is that the final decision?….. It sounds like dad is addicted to playing golf. Does he go and play by himself? I agree with you mom, golf is a good addiction to have only if you play at greenfield lakes because it so cheap especially in the summer. So that is good….. it sounds like Haley is still a dude magnet driving the truck everywhere. I bet you every time she comes out of the truck there is one guy out there saying, “wow look at that girl and that truck!” haha. She is very lucky to be driving that awesome truck. I would love to drive a truck….. Nelly seems like the greatest dog. She is very obedient and fun to play with. Is she fully grown yet? I can’t wait to meet her…. Brad Bishop came home from his mission from Mississippi. Good job Brad! Alex is already getting married? What is this world coming to? Everyone is getting married. I heard that Heidi Pang is getting married too. You remember Heidi Pang, right mom? She came over to the house a few times during high school…. hopefully Andreah’s court case will go the best it can go. She is lucky to have kept that job….. Well to answer a few questions; My companion is awesome. I love him. He is really funny and a good missionary. He likes it here in San Pedro. We get along great…. Elder Duncan came to the mission last Tuesday and it was really cool. He had a meeting with us zone leaders and district leaders before the actual zone conference. He talked about leadership with us. He is a very professional looking general authority. He was called to be a member of the seventy in april of 2010. He took up the whole zone conference talking about having a vision of what the mission will be like and what our area will look like in 6 months. He said if we have a good vision of what we want to accomplish than we will be more likely to obtain our desires and goals and we will have more success. It was really good. He broke it down really well for us to understand. It was quite a treat to have a general authority come to our zone conference. We learned a lot from him and I think the mission will progress…… I called sister baker about seeing a dermatologist. I have an appointment on the 31st of this month and the cool thing is, is that missionary medical is paying for everything. I was surprised to hear that but I thought that was awesome. So, they said I can take any antibiotic besides acutaine. So, hopefully I get one that works this time.
This week at church was ok. Tony and Arlene came to church but the rest of the family did not come to church. Karen we think is a little upset that she has to quit tea and so she lost a little bit of motivation to come to church. We have family home evening with them tonight. We are going to talk about it with them tonight. They are still doing really well. They come to every ward activity and they are as active as possible. Miracles are coming for them…. Rosie came to church in a dress and her fiancee came with a shirt and tie. They are doing fantastic. Preston hasn’t smoked for a month and he is doing really well. We had a lesson with them last night and we taught the rest of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. They understand everything super well we are happy for them. They are getting married this Saturday at 1:30 pm and the church by the bishop. It should be really good. Everything is planned out well. Preston will be getting the Aaronic Priesthood on the 4th of September and she will be baptized on the 10th of September by him. They are really excited and they are progressing very well. That is all who came to church. Dominic has missed three weeks in a row. He came to that activity on Saturday that the ward had but he didn’t come to church. He is a procrastinator. He is pushing back everything as long as possible. I am planning on being very bold with him tonight. He will be able to take it. He is a tough guy.
So the ward activity was a blast. They call there activity the Whoop dee do. There was a chili cook off and bake goods cook off. Elder Stenquist and I were the judges of the chili and the baked goods. It was fun but I got stuffed full of desserts. haha. It was really fun. There was a water balloon toss that turned into a water balloon fight and guess who was the target? Me. I got drilled by a billion water balloons by the ward members and I was soaked in my white shirt and tie. It was fun though. Dominic snuck around the crowd and blindsided me with a water balloon to my face. I was so surprised. Luckily I was right by the snow cone machine because I took a hand full of ice and chased him down and drilled him in the back with it. It was pretty funny. The best part was that a ton of less actives that haven’t been to church for years came and a lot of the members brought their neighbors as well. So there was a lot of missionary work involved. I can’t remember if I told you that one of the recent converts that I taught in Gardena, moved to San Pedro. Do you remember Maria Nichols? Elder Romrell and I found her when we were together over a year ago. Anyways, she moved to the ward with her husband and they came to the Whoop Dee Do and to church. It was great. I was so happy that they moved to San Pedro. It is way cool to see people that you taught a long time ago. Anyways, the Whoop Dee Do was very fun.
Well family, that is all I can think of right now. Elder Stenquist got a little sick again with a fever. He is doing ok now but yesterday we sat at home for half of the day. But anyways, thanks for the good letters you send me mom. I love you and I love you family. Have a good week!
Love,
Elder Kevin Jones
