Hey family! How are things going this week? More and more people are getting married. It is crazy. It sounds like the wedding went well and the reception and the party and everything else. I am glad that Katie got married. That is a good thing. Stacey Aston got married too? That is pretty sweet as well. So next week I am expecting 2 or 3 more people getting married that you are going to write about. haha. I enjoy hearing the news about weddings…… You must have had a wonderful time playing golf dad. You played 4 courses, had a caddy, and it was for free. I don’t think it can get any better than that. I can’t wait to play again. I still bounce a ball on the end of the golf club in my limited spare time that I have. I did it 1,253 times in a row. Elder Brady got pretty good at it too. That’s all the golf I get to see…. I cannot believe that Haley is a junior in high school and she is driving. That is ridiculous. I hate to say it mom and dad but you are getting old. haha. Time sure does fly by fast. I am glad that all the kids are still cute. I wish I could see them grow up…. Well the week sounded like it went well for you. Everything sounds like it is going ok. Thanks for the letters.

Well transfers did happen this past week. I am still in San Pedro and my new companion is Elder Stenquist. Elder Stenquist is awesome. He is from Kayesville Utah and he has been on his mission one more transfer than me. He is definitely one of a kind. He is hilarious. Lets just say that my cross country days prepared me to be companions with Elder Stenquist. He was a cross country runner too and he is very similar to some of the guys on my cross country team. Remember what the kids were like in cross country? Kind of nerdy, but really funny haha. Elder Stenquist isn’t so much nerdy but he is really funny. I have lost weight already with him. We run about a mile and half, plus play basketball or soccer every morning. I am back down to 195 pounds. It is great. He is a brand new zone leader and he just barely came from Watts. He has a lot of stories that crack me up. I am really excited to work with him this transfer. Hopefully I am here for another one after this as well. I love the area. Elder Stenquist was originally called to Mongolia on his mission. While in the middle of the MTC, his mission call was changed to here because the government changed over there and they stopped allowing Americans in. He was a little bummed but he loves it here now. He was in the MTC at the same time as me but he was there for 12 weeks. You pronounce his name like it is spelled.

Well this week was really busy with zone goal stuff, car reports, and stake report meetings. It took up a lot of our time this week. That is all done with now so things should be picking up again. We did still however, have 4 people at church. R, T, K, and A. R is doing really well. We were unable to meet with her this week because she is preparing to get married on the 27th. She is still down for the 28th of this month. Everything will be great. She still loves the church and is accepting everything very well…. T, K, and A are doing great too. They met with the Bishop last week and they are excited to keep moving forward. K’s testimony keeps growing and growing and it has been a huge change for her. She went from not wanting to come to church and not wanting to be baptized to the opposite where she loves church, she is reading on her own, and she wants to be baptized. I just wish their whole situation could get cleared up so that they can be baptized. They deserve it. It is frustrating but I know that God will provide a way when they are ready.

This week something pretty cool happened. I was on splits with Elder Gilbert. We were basically street-contacting on the main road of our area when we came across two guys having a yard sale. We just walked up to them and offered them a pass along card and cracked a couple of jokes and then one of the guys, named W, told us that he has been looking for our church for 20 years and he really wants to learn more about what we believe. It was crazy. He really was sincere about how interested he is. He is from El Salvador so he may prefer Spanish because his English was just ok. He spoke well but you can tell he probably would prefer Spanish. We will see. We just need to contact him again and see what happens. It was a cool miracle though.

Well, not much else has happened. We are still searching and searching for the elect down here in Pedro. We will find them soon. I love you family and thanks for all of your support and love to me. Talk to you next week.

Love,
Elder Kevin Jones
