Hello family once again. How are things going for you this week? I hope that all is well. Thanks for your letter mom. It sounds like your days with kids at home are getting numbered. The house is all yours it sounds like. Dad plays golf everyday and Haley just socializes. You probably will finish another 30 quilts before the end of the year. I am so excited to hear what Heidi will be having. Hopefully it’s a boy but we can’t get our hopes up because even if it is a boy we will still be excited. We will find out. I think Stella has both Heidi and Paul in her. She likes to dress up and be a princess and she watches Tron. haha. That is so Paul. I think its cool that Nathan and his family stayed at our house in my room when the power went out. That is cool. Hillary has a pretty funky designed home? I can’t wait to see it. I am glad you now have a co-teacher for your primary class. You would make a good primary teacher. I wish you were my teacher but you were the primary president instead. So it still worked out…. Congratulations Dad! A 78 is way good. You are becoming too good. I probably am terrible now at golf. I was terrible before my mission. My score would probably be around 200 on average. I also hope the store picks up when the snowbirds come in. I am glad that creative escape helped out a lot financially. Thanks for the package mom. I am excited about the cereals and so is my companion. We try to save money on groceries and the package helps a lot. We are both milk drinkers and so we eat a lot of cereal… Thanks for the cool shampoo and tooth brush. That is awesome. I found this really cool body wash that has been helping out with my face a lot. It is from Dove and it is way good. I haven’t started my prescription yet. They haven’t called me with my blood results yet. That was last Tuesday. I might just give them a call…. I cannot believe Melanie Willett is already coming home. I remember seeing her in the MTC. Robert Hill also is coming home? Wow. Everyone should start coming home in the next 6 months. All of my friends basically. January and February will be the popular months where everyone comes home. I am an old fart out here now. I get made fun of for how long I have been out. I only have 4 more transfer cycles. It’s sad. I am not ready for home.

Transfers are this week and we know nothing yet. I love this area. I want to stay for another transfer. If I don’t leave this transfer I will leave for sure next transfer. There is a lot picking up this transfer and I feel at home in this area. It is awesome. I do want to go back to Spanish but I don’t think they will put me in Spanish again. I feel like I am classified as an “English missionary”. Its okay with me. I will do my best to improve my Spanish while I am out here. I want to go home feeling comfortable enough with my Spanish to be able to talk to anyone. I am not asking to be fluent but to speak enough to communicate. English work feels more rewarding too. I like it a lot. I will go where the Lord wants me to go. So we will find out before Tuesday night on where I am going.

So yes, we had a baptism!!!!!!!! It feels good to have another baptism. It has been since May since I have participated with a baptism. It was definitely rewarding and a morale booster. R was baptized. It was funny too. P baptized her. First he messed up with the prayer. Then when he got the prayer right he didn’t dunk her all the way. Then she came back up and he just figured he had to dunk her again for it to be a complete baptism so he did. It was a good dunk but he didn’t say the prayer with it. haha so he had to baptize her again and he got it right the last time. It was a really good baptism. She asked me to give the talk on the Holy Ghost. So that is what I did. I think it went ok. I feel like public speaking isn’t as scary anymore. I still get nervous but it usually goes away when I get up there. Anyways, the baptism went great and I feel the Lord has blessed us again. R came to church and Bishop confirmed her. Bishop is a really good guy. He works for Nissan and says he can give us a discount if we ever buy a Nissan in the future. We will now teach R in members homes every week to teach her the recent convert lessons.

This week at church was kind of a bummer. We thought for sure we would have an awesome day at church but everyone had their excuses. R, T, and A were the ones that came so we are thankful for that but we had a lot of others planned to come. We have our investigator L who is doing awesome but she was unable to come because her ride bailed on her and we weren’t able to get a ride for her. She told us that half way through sacrament. L is doing really well otherwise. She may have a job at Denny’s sometime this week. She is finishing high school to get her diploma and she has been almost two months clean from drugs. She also is soaking everything in and she loves the Church. She will probably be baptized on the 8th of October….. T we have been teaching this past week as well. She is doing really well as well but her excuse was lame for not coming to church. She couldn’t find her keys. We haven’t been able to get a hold of her since she sent that text. We will contact her tomorrow hopefully. She asks the best questions and is super solid. She just needs to come to church and everything will be well with her. She hopefully will be baptized the same day as L.

This week we went on splits with a couple of elders in our zone to help boost their enthusiasm. Lots of missionaries are struggling in our zone with complacency. The missionaries are just being a little lazy. This past week went well for the zone. The missionaries are picking up their hard work. We had 37 new investigators for a zone this past week. It is the best since December of last year. So that was awesome. Our goal is to have 36 or more weekly which is 3 per companionship. So far so good.

Well hopefully I stay here in Pedro or get transferred back to Spanish. One of the two options and I would be happy. Or go to Inglewood, Hollywood, or Watts. That would be fun too. I am still in search to baptize Kobe Bryant. I haven’t found him yet. I will try my best to find him….. I love you family! Thanks for your prayers and support. Thank you Shreeve family for the package. I am grateful.

Love,
Elder Kevin Jones
